“Fusion food in a contemporary Korean-style setting.”

Recently opened in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, Gamsul is a Korean concept restaurant serving a large selection of fusion dishes. It is contemporary, swish, almost quirky in design and deceptively large and airy. The mixed style of table seating is comfortable and includes communal tables, bench-style sofas and bar seats that look directly into the busy open kitchen. Warm hues, light woods accented by coloured place mats, the striped floor and an oversized wall display featuring a lady in traditional clothing along with shelves of colourful purchasable display items add to its friendly atmosphere. Set over two floors, the upper being reserved for smokers, the food is modern and fusion with an array of Korean noodles and rice, as well as grilled and fried pork, chicken and beef dishes. Highlights include the colourful Cheese Buldak, Joo Muk Rice and Woo Koo Mi, a spicy octopus dish bursting with colour and flavour.
